Oracle Tip: Find columns in oracle database

If you already know the column name but are not sure which table it is in then you can use the sql below to find the table name:

SELECT table_name, column_name FROM all_tab_columns WHERE lower(column_name) like lower(‘%<column_name>%’);

replace <column_name> with the actual column name string (even a partial string will do).
